The Hon. Carolyn B. Freeman

Judge Carolyn B. Freeman was elected by the voters of Orange County in 1990. She is currently serving as the county Court Administrative Judge in Orange County, Florida and has served 10 years as the County Court Administrative Judge. She has previously served in all division of County Court, including Traffic Division, Criminal Division, Jail Division, Specialized Domestic Violence Division. She implemented the Traffic Hearing Officer program in 1994 to assist the County Judges with traffic infraction hearings and correspondence. In 2000, she assisted with the implementation of the planning, scheduling and operation of the two County Court Courtrooms at the jail which handle Initial Appearances, Misdemeanor/Traffic Arraignments, Collection Court Writs, 33 day Motion hearings, and Mental Health Court diversions.

Prior to taking the bench Judge Freeman worked in private practice handling civil matters.

Judge Freeman holds a Juris Doctor from Florida State University College of Law, and a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Rollins College. She attended elementary school, junior high school and high school in Orange County, Florida. She is married and has two grown children.

She is currently a member of the Orange County Bar Association, Central Florida Association of Women Lawyers, The Florida Bar and the Conference of County Court Judges, and has served on various committees with those organizations.
