History
Founded in 1933, the Orange County Bar Association (OCBA) has served as the primary platform for attorneys in the Orlando, Florida area to convene, share information regarding their legal specializations, and provide crucial legal and
community services to residents in the surrounding regions. With over 3,250 voluntary members, the OCBA boasts accomplished legal professionals who have gained recognition at the regional, state, and national levels for their professionalism,
integrity, and expertise in the field.
The Orange County Bar Association is dedicated to meeting the legal needs of low-income residents, the working poor, children, and disadvantaged groups with special needs in the community through its support of the Legal Aid Society of
the Orange County Bar Association, Inc. The Legal Aid Society was established by OCBA leadership in the 1960’s to fulfill the Bar’s strongly-held value of ensuring access to justice for all. The needs were – and continue to be – multiple
and widespread. The relationship between the OCBA and the Legal Aid Society is unique in the nation. As a requirement of OCBA membership, attorney members must take two pro bono cases annually, make a financial contribution, or undertake
specific community projects through the Legal Aid Society. It is just one indication of the OCBA’s commitment to the community.
